Our well-established client law firm based in Bedford is currently seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join their dynamic and supportive Property Team.

The Role
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Property Department. Your responsibilities will include:-
• Providing comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the Head of Department.
• Drafting and preparing legal documents, correspondence, and contracts.
• Managing diaries, scheduling meetings, and liaising with clients and third parties.
• Handling Land Registry applications and requisitions, SDLT submissions, and Companies House filings.
• Assisting with file management, document production, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Processing invoices, billing, and handling confidential client information with discretion.

The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you should have:
• Previous experience as a legal secretary or assistant in property department.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.

Primarily as residential property specialist you will have the ability to manage your own caseload and all aspects of sales and purchases, with the benefit of experienced and highly administrative support.

Duties include:

Undertaking and managing a caseload of sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold properties, new builds, shared ownership, help to buy, and right to buy transactions, as well as remortgages and transfers of equity.
Creating and maintaining lasting relationships with clients and third parties at all levels.
Having a thorough and detailed approach to work.

Creating and maintaining lasting relationships with clients and third parties at all levels.
Assisting with the firm’s business development plans, fostering and cultivating new business relationships which may include attending social and networking events.
Awareness of other services provided by the firm and the opportunities to cross-sell those services whenever it is appropriate to do so (e.g. advising clients of the benefits of making a will, particularly when purchasing property).
Having a thorough and detailed approach to work, utilising the firm’s case management system to store transactional correspondence and transactional documentation and recording of time spent on matters.
